Senator Norman Washington Grant
Chief Executive Officer
He is a Chartered Accountant by profession and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica and England (Fellow Status). He is also a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians, London (Fellow Status) and a member of the Association of Public Accountants in Jamaica.
For the past twenty three (23) years he has been employed at the Mavis Bank Central Factory Limited where he has worked in several capacities. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer. He is also a Certified International Coffee Cup Taster.
Senator Grant was educated at Mt. Fletcher All Age School, Jamaica College, Duff’s Business College where he gained a Diploma in Management and Accounting and was nominated the most outstanding male student in 1986. He attended the Institute of Management and Production (IMP), Accounting Consortium of Jamaica and the University of Manchester and Wales, where he completed his MBA in December 1999. He majored in International Business Strategy, Bank Financial Management and Human Resource Management.
He is President of the Kingston and St. Andrew Association of Branch Societies/JAS and President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society. He is former Chairman of the National PC Bank Consultative Committee of PC Banks, a position he retained from 1994 to 2003. Chairman of the Jamaica 4H Clubs Board of Management and 1st Vice President of the Caribbean 4H Council. He was first appointed Senator in May 2001 and later re-appointed in November 2002. Senator Grant was recently appointed President of the Caribbean Farmers Association Network (CaFAN).
In 1992 he was a member of the delegation led by Mr. Kingsley Thomas, Managing Director of Agricultural Credit Bank of Jamaica that went to Canada to negotiate for the Integrated People’s Cooperative Bank Network (IPCBN) Programme, i.e. the upgrading of the PC Banks.
He is a member of the Lay Magistrates Association of St. Andrew and a member of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association in London.
Senator Grant is a Minister of Religion and is the Assistant Pastor of the Pilgrim’s Church of God Tower Hill, a member of the Executive Board of the Pilgrim’s Church of God and National Youth’s Director. He is married with three (3) children.
He is also a coffee and goat farmer.
